Landon Winery
Harold Mitas was born and raised on a farm in the Midwest, but it took a long time to find a home. He made his living as a farmer, musician, businessman and entrepreneur, but he was always a winemaker at heart. In 1999, Harold and his wife Sue landed on the golden slope of their dreams. With his magical green thumb and his visionary spirit, they set off. One vine quickly became two, and soon the rocky soil of Mitas mountain was decorated with nearly five thousand vines and seven varieties. It didn’t take long before the entire Mitas family joined their parents’ passion. Steve and Sherrie, financier and sommelier, Lisa and Tim, pharmacist and winemaker, Michelle, businesswoman and concierge, all play important roles. Even the third generation of the Mitas clan is involved in cleaning. It’s a family affair. It’s a love affair. The future of Mitas Hill is really bright.
Mitas Hill’s new winery is capable of producing 15,000 gallons per year, all handcrafted with the utmost care and attention to detail.
